Why these sources matter for LLMs

Hacker News and Bluesky are public, open platforms: their discussions are freely accessible to crawlers, widely present in the corpora used by language models and consulted by AI engines that perform web search. A brand discussed positively in these communities gains notoriety signals that AIs can pick up — just like Reddit, already covered by its own page.

How to use it

  • 1. Open the External presence hub, then the Social buzz tab.
  • 2. The page automatically loads mentions of your brand — no configuration, no account to connect.
  • 3. Hacker News column: every thread mentioning the brand, with a clickable title to the discussion, snippet, points, comment count and date.
  • 4. Bluesky column: every post, with author, @handle, full text, likes, reposts, replies and date.
  • 5. Click Refresh to re-run the search at any time.

Free, zero configuration

This page relies on the public interfaces of both platforms: it is free, consumes no paid API credit and requires no key.

Zero mentions? That's normal (and honest)

Hacker News and Bluesky are mostly English-speaking, tech-oriented communities. For a local brand or a service SMB, having no mention is the most common outcome — and the page shows it as-is rather than inflating numbers. It's not a bug: it's information. If your market is international or tech, these platforms become a real AI visibility lever.

Tip :Watch for spikes: a Hacker News thread taking off (rising points and comments) is an opportunity to step in as an expert — as with Reddit, helpful participation without self-promotion is what AIs end up citing.
