What is a project?

A project in PivotSEO represents a website you want to track continuously. Each project has its own keywords, AI prompts, competitors, external data sources (Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Bing Webmaster Tools) and complete scan history. Project segmentation lets you manage multiple clients or multiple brands in parallel, with strict data isolation between them.

Step 1 — Start creating

In the sidebar, click on « Projects » (folder icon). You arrive at the list of your existing projects. Click the blue « New project » button at the top right.

Step 2 — Fill in basic information

  • Project ID: a short lowercase identifier without spaces or special characters, used as a technical key (e.g. myclient, chatdirect-ca). This ID cannot be changed afterwards.
  • Full name: the readable name shown in menus (e.g. « ChatDirect.ca — AI visibility »).
  • Main domain: the root domain without https:// or trailing slash (e.g. chatdirect.ca).
  • City: useful for local-focused searches. Leave empty if the project isn't geo-targeted.

Step 3 — Connections (optional but recommended)

The GSC, GA4 and Bing fields can be filled later. If you leave them empty, you can configure them later from project settings or directly via the Projects page dropdowns automatically populated with your OAuth Google or Bing API key.

Step 4 — Finalize

Click « Create project ». You're automatically redirected to a confirmation screen inviting you to connect Google (GSC + GA4) and Bing. You can do this immediately or return to the list.

Tip :Save time: use the Claude Auto-populate feature in project settings. AI scans your domain and automatically suggests fifteen relevant keywords, ten AI prompts and five representative competitors, in English, French, Spanish or German. A few minutes of manual validation is enough to start quality tracking.
Warning :Project quota: each plan limits active projects (Starter: 1, Pro: 3, Enterprise: 10). If you reach your quota, you must either delete an existing project or upgrade.
