Connect Google Search Console and Analytics 4

Single OAuth authorization for both Google services

Open the page in the app

Why this connection is essential

Without Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4, PivotSEO cannot cross-reference your traditional SEO data (clicks, impressions, positions, conversions) with your AI engine visibility. The SEO × GEO Matrix, which is the core differentiator of the application, becomes unusable. These connections are read-only: PivotSEO cannot modify anything on your side.

Prerequisites

  • Have a Google account with access to your GSC and GA4 properties.
  • Have already verified your site in Google Search Console.
  • Have the Search Console, Analytics Data and Analytics Admin APIs enabled in your Google Cloud project (one click per API).

Detailed procedure

  • In the sidebar, go to Settings (or directly to Projects → select your project).
  • Locate the Google connection (GSC + GA4) section.
  • Click the blue Connect Google button. A Google window opens.
  • Choose the Google account with access to GSC and GA4 (be careful if you use both personal AND professional accounts, verify which one owns the properties).
  • Check both required authorizations: webmasters.readonly and analytics.readonly. These permissions are strictly read-only.
  • Click Authorize. You're redirected to PivotSEO with a confirmation message.
  • Return to Projects, open your project and choose the right GSC and GA4 properties in the dropdowns. These menus populate automatically with all properties your account can access.
  • Click Save. Any contaminated data cache (if you changed properties) is automatically purged.

Search Console property formats

GSC offers two property formats. The selector displays both: • Domain: format sc-domain:example.com. Covers all subdomains and protocols. Recommended format. • URL prefix: format https://www.example.com/. Specific to a given protocol and subdomain.

Warning :Error 403 « API has not been used »: if you see this message, the concerned API is not enabled in your Google Cloud project. Click the link in the error message and enable it. Allow two minutes for propagation.
Tip :Automatic diagnostic: if the property list remains empty despite an apparent connection, use the Google connection diagnostic button on the Projects page. A detailed JSON will tell you exactly where the problem is (missing scopes, disabled API, revoked token, etc.).

Google Business Profile (optional)

To track your business listing (performance, searches, reviews, replies), PivotSEO asks for one extra permission: « Manage your Google Business Profile listings » (business.manage). If your Google connection predates this feature, click Reconnect Google in Settings, accept that permission, then add the listing(s) under Google Business Profiles (official API). If a listing belongs to a different Google account than Search Console and GA4 (a common case: the agency holds GSC and GA4, the client keeps the listing), use the Add a Google account for listings link under the list: that account only receives the « listing » permission, and the main account keeps feeding GSC and GA4. You can add up to 5 accounts (for example a client with several locations whose listings sit in different accounts): the listings of every account show up in the same list. See the « Google Business Profile (official API) » article under Local SEO.
