ASO (App Store Optimization) is the SEO of app marketplaces: if your project has a mobile app, its visibility in App Store and Google Play search results is a full acquisition channel. The App Stores module tracks your keyword rankings, audits your listing, compares you with competitors and analyzes your reviews — on both stores, across multiple countries and languages.
How to use it — configuration
- 1. Open the App Stores page in the sidebar, then click Configure.
- 2. Enter your app: App Store ID (Apple) and/or Google Play package. Don't know the Apple ID? Use the “Find an App Store app (by name)” field: type your app's name (or a competitor's), the built-in iTunes search finds it and fills in the ID for you.
- 3. Enter your keywords to track (one per line, maximum 10).
- 4. Check the tracked countries: up to 6 among the 16 available (Canada, United States, France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Morocco). The first checked country is the primary one: it is used for the listing, reviews and history.
- 5. Check the app languages (maximum 3): rankings are tracked in each language, and the listing is audited in each language for the primary country. Leave empty to use the project's language.
- 6. Add up to 5 competitor apps (name + App Store ID and/or Play package).
- 7. Click Save, then Scan now. The store scan takes 1 to 5 minutes.
What the scan shows
- Keyword rankings: your position in the top 100 search results, per store, per country and per language — with a color badge (green = top 3, blue = top 10, yellow = top 30).
- Listing audit, scored /100: each criterion is checked (title of 30 characters maximum, number of visuals, average rating, freshness of the last update…) with a suggested fix for every failing item.
- Localized listings: when several languages are checked, each language version of the listing gets its own audit score and list of issues to fix.
- Category ranking: your rank within the app's category (e.g. #12 — Productivity).
- Vs competitors: a table compares you to each competitor — listing score, rating, review count, number of visuals, last update date.
- Recent reviews: the latest customer reviews with the average and the count of negative ones.
The three AI analyses
- Review intelligence (Claude): click Analyze reviews to get recurring themes (complaints and praise, with quotes and a recommended action) and a ready-to-post reply for every negative review, written in the brand's tone.
- First screenshot audit: click Audit the visual to have the AI analyze your first screenshot (the one that decides the download) — score, strengths, issues ranked by severity with a fix, and a verdict.
- Optimized metadata (Claude): click Generate to get, in every checked language and adapted to the market: a title ≤ 30 characters, an iOS subtitle ≤ 30 characters, the 100-character iOS keyword field with no redundancy with the title, an Android short description and a long description — each field with its character counter, ready to copy.
Automatic Sunday tracking
Once the configuration is saved, rankings are collected automatically every Sunday. The Ranking history chart is built from these readings (at least 2 dates required): you see the effect of every listing optimization on your positions, keyword by keyword.
Tip :Audit your competitors from day one: the name search works for any app. Adding your 3 to 5 direct competitors at configuration time immediately gives you the comparison table — and reveals the best-optimized listings to study.
