IndexNow — Bing indexing within seconds

Notify Bing (and therefore Copilot) as soon as a page is published or updated

What IndexNow is for

IndexNow is an open protocol backed by Microsoft: instead of waiting for the crawler's next visit (which can take days), you notify Bing within seconds that a page was just published or updated. Since Microsoft Copilot relies on the Bing index for its answers, fast indexing on Bing also accelerates your presence in that AI engine. It's free, with no restrictive quota for normal use.

Setup in 2 steps (one time)

1. Open the IndexNow page and click Generate the project key (your project must have a configured domain). A unique key is created for your site.
2. Click Download to get the {key}.txt file, then place it at your site root: it must respond exactly at the URL shown in step 1 (e.g. https://yoursite.com/{key}.txt). A Copy key button is also available if you prefer to create the file yourself.
3. Click Verify the file: PivotSEO confirms the file is reachable and the badge turns to Verified. URL submission is then unlocked.

Submit URLs manually

Once the key is verified, the Submit URLs card appears: paste your URLs in the text area (one per line, maximum 100 per submission) then click Submit to IndexNow. A message confirms the number of submitted URLs — Bing/Copilot discover them within minutes.

Automatic submission after WordPress publishing

If you use the article-to-WordPress flow from content briefs, every article published via WordPress is automatically submitted to IndexNow — no manual action required. The history distinguishes these submissions (source “WordPress”) from manual ones.

Submission history

The table at the bottom of the page keeps every submission: date and time, number of URLs, status (OK or error detail) and source (WordPress or Manual).

Tip :On WordPress, upload the key file via FTP, your host's file manager, or a “File Manager” plugin. The file must respond exactly at the indicated URL — not in a subfolder.

Warning :Submit wisely: IndexNow is meant to signal genuinely new or updated pages. Repeatedly submitting unchanged URLs achieves nothing and can degrade the trust granted to your key.
