Keyword overview

Everything known about a single term: volume, difficulty, intent, SERP

Open the page in the app

SEO & keywords → Keyword overview opens the detailed view of one term. There are three ways in: type the word in the search box and hit Analyze, click a keyword from the rank tracking table, or use a direct link such as /dashboard/keyword-overview?kw=your+term. Under the search box, the Recent searches list shows overviews already in cache — reopening one costs nothing.

Set the country and language first

Two selectors at the top right, Analysis country and Index language, drive everything below them. The same word does not have the same volume, the same difficulty or the same SERP depending on the market you query. Changing either one re-runs the analysis.

The five tiles at the top

  • Volume: monthly searches in the chosen country, with global volume underneath.
  • Difficulty: a 0-to-100 figure, paired with a label (Very easy, Easy, Possible, Hard, Very hard) and a sentence telling you what it will take to rank.
  • Intent: informational, navigational, commercial or transactional — it dictates the page format to produce.
  • CPC: the paid cost per click, with competitive density. A high CPC flags a query where there is money.
  • AI Overview: present or absent on this query, and the first domains cited when it is present.

What the overview details next

  • Search trend (12 months): the monthly curve, to tell a seasonal topic from a rising one.
  • Volume by country: where in the world the term is searched most.
  • Keyword variations: every variant with its volume and difficulty, plus the total volume they represent together.
  • Questions: the question-shaped queries around the term — raw material for an FAQ or for your H2s.
  • Content strategy: the suggested pillar page and its subpages, each with its actual intent.
  • SERP analysis: the top 10 with domain authority (AS), backlinks and estimated traffic, the features present (featured snippet, People Also Ask, videos, local pack…), the sources cited in the AI Overview and the related searches.

Tracking a keyword from the overview

The Track button, right of the title, adds the term to the selected project's SEO keywords. It will be included in the next scan and will then show up in the matrix, in rankings and in reports.

  • When the term is already tracked, the button is replaced by a Tracked label.
  • The variations and questions tables carry the same button, row by row.
  • Every People Also Ask question is clickable: it opens its own overview.

Cost and freshness

A full overview takes about twenty seconds and several DataForSEO calls (volumes, difficulty, intent, variations, SERP, domain authority). The result is then kept for seven days and shared across your projects: reopening the same overview consumes nothing: the latest measurement shows with its date, even an old one. Only Analyze and the Refresh button, which shows the measurement date, trigger a new paid reading.

Warning :The page depends on valid DataForSEO credentials. Without them, or if the account has run dry, the overview shows an error instead of figures.
