AI search volume
How often your keywords are asked to AI engines
Open the page in the appGoogle volume tells you how many people type a term into a search engine. It says nothing about the people asking ChatGPT the same question. This page, reached through Keyword research → AI volume, supplies the missing estimate: how many times each of your keywords is asked to conversational engines every month. The source is DataForSEO AI Keyword Data, and the page covers the project's SEO keywords (up to 100).
The three tiles at the top
- Total AI volume / month: the sum of the AI volumes of all your keywords.
- Keywords with AI volume: how many of your keywords have a measurable volume, out of the total tracked. A wide gap flags terms nobody is asking AI engines about yet.
- Source: the data provider, stated so you know what you are citing in a client report.
Reading the table
- Keyword: the project's SEO keywords, sorted by descending AI volume.
- AI volume / month: the estimate for conversational engines.
- Google volume: taken from the project's keyword cache. A dash means Google volume was never measured for that term.
- AI/Google ratio: the relationship between the two. Above 1 the badge turns red; between 0.5 and 1, orange.
- AI trend: an arrow computed from the monthly history — the second half of the period against the first, with a 15 % threshold either way.
What the ratio tells you
A ratio above 1 means the topic is asked to an AI more often than it is typed into Google. That is the most concrete signal that usage is shifting on that specific topic: the page covering it needs to be written to be cited (direct answer up top, verifiable data, markup), not only to rank.
Refresh, cache and side effects
- Results are kept for seven days; the Refresh button forces a new reading and consumes DataForSEO credits.
- AI volumes measured here are written back into the project's keyword cache: the SEO × GEO matrix and the Trends page benefit right away.
- With no SEO keyword configured on the project, the page has nothing to measure and says so.
- When the call fails, a yellow banner repeats the reason returned by the API rather than showing zeros.
