SEO × GEO Matrix

PivotSEO's core: crossing Google performance and AI visibility

Open the page in the app

The concept

The SEO × GEO Matrix positions each of your keywords in a two-dimensional plane. Horizontal axis represents traditional SEO performance (combination of search volume, Google position, GSC clicks). Vertical axis represents GEO visibility (GEO Score derived from AI mentions). The crossing produces four distinct zones, each calling for a specific strategy.

The four quadrants

  • URGENT (high Google volume + low AI visibility): you're known on Google but invisible to AIs. Users increasingly migrate to ChatGPT and peers, and they won't see you. Priority one: publish GEO-optimized content (FAQ + schema + stats), obtain mentions on AI-cited sources, add schema.org.
  • MAINTAIN (high volume + high AI): you dominate both channels. Goal: maintain pressure, don't relax, monitor new competitor emergence.
  • WATCH (low volume + high AI): niche where you're a reference but volume remains modest. Monitor volume evolution (trend emergence) and maintain acquired authority.
  • IGNORE (low volume + low AI): no-impact keyword. No action required. Candidate for removal from tracked list if project approaches quota.

Table columns

  • Keyword: the tracked term
  • Google Volume: average monthly searches (DataForSEO)
  • AI Volume: inferred volume from associated AI prompts
  • GEO Score: 0-100 with color code
  • SEO Difficulty: 0-100 (lower = easier to rank)
  • GSC Clicks: real clicks over last 90 days
  • Google Position: current average position
  • Priority Score: PivotSEO algorithm combining all signals to sort opportunities
  • Quadrant: visual classification label

Filters and graphical view

Above the table, a row of buttons lets you filter by quadrant (Urgent, Maintain, Watch, Ignore, All). A scatter plot visually displays all keywords positioned in the four zones, with point size proportional to volume. Hovering a point reveals the corresponding keyword.

Automatic recommendations

Below the table, a « Recommendations » section lists URGENT keywords with a concrete suggested action for each. Examples: « Create a long-form article with FAQ section on [keyword] », « Obtain Wikipedia mention for [keyword] », « Optimize schema.org of [URL page] ».
