Project API costs
What this project consumed, day by day and API by API
Open the page in the appProject management → Project API costs answers one plain question: how much does this client cost in data? The page is restricted to the project owner. An editor or viewer who opens it gets the message 'This page is restricted to the project owner' — deliberately so: costs are none of a collaborator's business.
Picking the period
Four buttons at the top right cover 7, 30, 90 and 180 days; the page opens on 30. The refresh icon next to them re-reads the figures without changing the period. The whole screen — totals, chart and breakdown — follows the window you choose.
The three totals
- Total (USD): cumulative spend over the period.
- Total (CAD): the same amount converted, with the exchange rate used shown just below.
- API calls: how many billed calls were made, handy for spotting a scan running too often.
The detail
- Daily spend (USD): the day-by-day chart. Spikes are scans; an unusual plateau points to a page being re-run in a loop.
- Breakdown by API: one bar per provider — ChatGPT (OpenAI), Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AIO and DataForSEO — with the amount and the number of calls.
- AI scan costs are per-call estimates, computed from each engine's pricing.
- DataForSEO costs are the exact amounts billed by the API, logged call by call and attributed to the project — including collections started from pages (Run analysis or Refresh button), which used to be counted outside the project.
- Amounts always show two decimals, in your language's format ($0.10 in English).
- Opening a page creates no spending: a paid collection only starts on your click, or at the Sunday scan for the data you look at.
- Today (in progress): periods stop at yesterday, the last full day. The current day's spending shows separately on this line, which grows as the day goes on.
On the BYOK plan
When the project runs on your own DataForSEO credentials, an extra panel appears at the top of the page: the real balance of YOUR account, with the total deposited and the total spent. It is read straight from DataForSEO with your key, and refreshed at most once an hour.
